New Tenpin Bowling Alley for Canterbury

Saturday 5th September marked the grand opening of a new tenpin bowling alley in Canterbury.

Bugsy’s Ice ‘n’ Bowl boasts an 8 lane alley as well as a spacious 120 square foot ice rink which can accommodate up to 40 skaters at a time.

The brand new bowling and skating venue cost LMP Leisure around £700,000 to build and has created 30 jobs in the local area at a time where many employers are having to lay people off.

The bowling alley features fluorescent lighting to add more fun and atmosphere to what promises to be a very popular venue amongst families in Canterbury.

Bugsy’s also has a bar and 1950’s style diner to provide a complete day or evening out for family and friends.
The decision to open this exciting new facility only came about because another bowling company’s application was refused a license and LMP Leisure seized on the opportunity to bring the Bugsy’s brand to the area.

Tenpin bowling has played a big part in the lives of the owners with both of them having family members who have excelled at the sport both locally and nationally.

This significant commitment to tenpin bowling at a time where many businesses are closing down demonstrates the growing popularity of tenpin bowling as a sport and recreational activity in the UK today.
