2010 - A SPECIAL YEAR FOR BRITISH TENPIN BOWLING

2010 marked the 50th Anniversary of Tenpin Bowling being introduced commercially in Great Britain. The first bowling centre in the UK opened at Stamford Hill, London on 20th January 1960. To mark this occasion a wide range of events are planned throughout the year. The Tenpin Bowling Proprietors Association of Great Braitain and the British Tenpin Bowling Association are pleased to announce that the two organisations will be working together during 2010 to further promote Tenpin Bowling, both as a sport and as a favourite family activity. Today there are over 300 bowling centres spread across all parts of the country.

The two organisations will be jointly promoting the sport with local and national competitions in many bowling centres. In addition there will be family offers and events designed to re-intoduce bowling as a regular social event. New bowling leagues and clubs will be available for all ages together with coaching opportunities for those who wish to improve their bowling skills.
