The TBPA are very pleased that tenpin bowling centres are allowed to reopen in England from the 1st August. However, there are many challenges for the industry to tackle as the lockdown restrictions are slowly relaxed.

The TBPA is the trade body for tenpin bowling in the UK and is run by an executive committee elected by the members.

The members include many of the larger groups such as Hollywood Bowl, Tenpin, Superbowl UK, Disco Bowl, Namco and independent operators.

The TBPA were responsible for reopening the sector through discussion with the DCMS and helping draft the Covid-secure guidelines that have now been endorsed by the government.

This was achieved through collaboration and drawing on the resources of the major operators and lobbying to MPs and government officials who initially had little understanding of our businesses.

We recognize that the guidelines have implications on the financial viability for bowling operators due to the capacity restrictions we are currently being asked to follow.

Our members share the challenges ahead and would like to ensure that you have the access to all the information and support our group can offer.
